Runs and drives great recently drove it to Indiana and back no problem. The 2003 Tiburon was the first model year of this body style and was known for having a defective dual mass flywheel and there was a recall on it. In July of 2010 the stock dual mass flywheel on my car failed which in turn caused the clutch & transmission to fail and all 3 components needed to be replaced. I spent 3 grand in repairs to put in a new SINGLE mass flywheel which is WAY more reliable than stock, a new clutch, and a used transmission with around 20,000 miles. All work performed by a local ASE certified automotive shop that has been in business 30years, I have receipts to prove it. My loss your gain. I also have the original window sticker from when I bought it new.The bad:Slight surface rust on door panel on bottomDrivers side power window went out I was told about 200 or so to replace it. Details: This car has served me well, but we decided to purchase a vehicle from my in-laws and now it´s time to part with it. Please note - I live in Indianapolis, IN and the car is registered in Indiana, but the car is currently at my in-laws´ place in Plymouth, very near Maple Grove. Also, please be aware that in Indiana, the plates are tied to the owner, not the car, so the license plate will be removed when it is sold. I bought this car in 2006 with less than 50,000 miles. As you can see from the odometer picture below, it has 126,500 miles now. It had been in a front end collision and had been repaired. In 2008, I had another minor front end collision and replaced the bumper/hood. It´s been a reliable car, it gets great gas mileage (always 30+ mpg avg for me including some city driving), is fun to drive, and has an awesome heating/air conditioning system. I´m a non-smoker. Over the time I´ve owned it, we completed the following repairs:11/06 Replaced clutch9/07 Replaced starter1/08 Collision repair9/09 Muffler/exhaust repair10/09 Replaced 4 tires (40k mi rated tires)1/10 Tightened drive belts, replaced TBI and intake manifold gaskets9/10 Complete brake job (rotors, pads, cylinders)5/11 Belt replacement - Timing, P/S, Alt, A/C10/11 Rust Check rustproofing treatment5/11 1 tire replaced (non-matching, as tires were discontinued)It´s been my daily driver to work and back, so it´s spent a lot of time outside. I like to disclose everything I can up front, so here are all the known issues:Paint damage on the hoodWindshield wiper fluid squirters replaced with non-OEM partsSpot rust, mainly on the rear quarter panels on both sidesTrunk latch spring does not work (you have to push the handle back into position manually after opening it)Rear wiper does not workFabric rips in a couple spots on the driver´s seat (cigarette burns from before I owned the car?)Plastic face piece on one of the pop-out console cupholders is broken (does not affect functionality)Release knob for the back seat (to lay it flat) sometimes comes offBurns/loses about a quart of oil between oil changes, though I´ve not noticed telltale blue smoke or any drips under the car in my garageThis is the GT hatchback model with a 5-speed manual transmission. Has power locks and power windows and a CD player with the original alloy wheels. are primed black and origanal color of car is cobalt metallic bluei started to re wire battery to the trunk so the cables are cut i just need to splice together themneeds tires i bought a set of 18s with a set of shot tires last october drove it up untill winter came took them off and now the cords are showing so ( well what of a winter we had) i have the interior in the rear tooken out ( re wire battery the right way)noticed after i did my clutch swap the out put shaft seals are leaking a littleparking brake cables broken ( but i have brand new driver and passenger side cables from mitsubishi/ hyundai still in package)will need tow becouse of kit not being fully on and gotta finish re wireing batteryprosdrilled slotted rotors and brembo pads4 new calipersi have both brake CABLES for parking brakesstage 3 clutch rated for up to 350 hp and 325 torque ( it really grabs)built my own cold air intake since no one makes one that will fit and i do not agree with universal intakesDNA performance headers opens the exhaust in the front from 2´ to 2.75 inre did timing and head with a turbo gasket (was planning on turboing but decided for body kit first)it has after market intake and exhaust cams ( dont remember from where i got them from my buddy that ordered them from korea)shark raceing cam gearsNGK TYPE R race plugs8mm wiresnew valve cover gasket (i decided to go custom and paint valve cover blue looks good)always have had synthetic oil ( and i dont care what any one says to you synthetic is the best you dont get a valve slap you can go back and forth to connventional with no harm its a myth about spinning bearings ive worked around race cars and oils my entire life)K & N oil filter every timei bought car in canada imported to usa had gauge swapped and set by bloomington hyundai in 2007becouse i bought in canada has the extra 25 hp stock and extra 15 ft lbs torque (due to computer figuring) also it dose NOT have govanor white gauge face platestype r carbon muffler with silencer ( 3´´ in 4´´ out) sounds nice not all loud and ricedi started painting some interior i get alot of applause on ithas pioneer front speakers and bass rear 6x9 speakers has ipod ready fully function pioneer deck (maybe 6 months old installed when i did speakers)i did 3 custom neon light bars on driver and passenger side along with the center council below deck (blue neons if you havnt guess i try to match everything together)i did deleat the AC out completly along with window wash fluid and cruis control) spyder rear tail lightsbrand new front head light assemblyclear corner markers i orderd from korea ( its funny usa siezed them and still returned them to me)started matching some coolant hoses and vacume lines blue to carnew beltsnew coolant with head gasket
